Post Buying a Puppy-- Ask for the paperwork at time of sale!!
We are hearing on the forum more and more of puppy buyers who are  paying for a pedigree puppy and then after being promised the Kennel Club registration and Pedigree will be sent on, Months and many phone calls and letters later
-No Papers.

Please when you buy your puppy, Do not let emotion get in the way, ask the the pedigree when you collect your puppy, do not pay for your puppy unless either the FULL papers are there to bring home.or you have a signed and dated and FULL written receipt stating that these will follow.
Do not take a bit of paper,or a smile and a promise - ask for a proper receipt...

Remember the best con artists are friendly and charm itself.
There may be a genuine reason for the delay, but a good reputable breeder will be happy to give you a reciept stating the papers will follow, Just remember the breeder would not let you take the puppy on a promise the money will be sent in a few days!!!!

Post Re: Buying a Puppy-- Ask for the paperwork at time of sale!!
very good advice..
i've been on both side's and it's no trouble to get the paper work in order no reason not too.. it only take's about 5 to 10 day's from start to finish to receive all the document's ..
year's ago i travelled 400 mile round trip and was promised the paper work would be sent on ..never was .ended up returning the pup .. after a lot of trouble ..
it turned out that the dam/mother was only in her first season and the kc do not register pup's from a bitch until after her first birthday ... and won't register two litter's a year .... which is fair
a dog it doesn't matter any age
if your told yes they have been registered we are waiting for the paper work and your unsure you shouldn't buy realy until you are ,,,,
but you could ask for the registration number of the dam / sire or kennel name ..the kc will check and tell you if a litter as been registerd to these parent's .date who by e.c.t
but on the whole most people are honest and don't mind all the question's if they are genuine ...
